In this day and age, we are constantly surrounded by cars or driving in them. While we aren’t driving the car someone else could be driving the car. One overlooked thing is a tank of windshield wiper fluid.
Now, this may sound like common sense for the average car-owner, but the truth is that this really is not for the first time car owner! Whether the car is new or used, there is the importance of providing information for the car user newbie to have properly filled windshield wiper fluid tanks.
It is safe to say that the tank won’t be able to magically be refilled. So, as you become a much wiser car owner, you will know exactly where the reservoir tank is, how the cap can be taken off, and how full you should fill the tank up.
Naturally, there is a lot of dust, debris, dirt, smog, and all sorts of pollutants in the air. Floating all about the sky, it comes from both man-made things as well as naturally from mother nature. There are also bugs, birds and all sorts of flying objects that will somehow be in the path of your car or releasing their waste from up above. This is unavoidable, and you are bound to have to clean that off your windshield as you need full visibility driving on the street.
This is that very fluid that is shooting out from your windshield wipers as they sweep across with their rubbery blades in semi arcs to clean off all of those very dirty elements as you drive.
To kick it up a notch, some newer models of cars (especially SUVs) will have an extra wiper blade for the rear windshield. Whether that makes a difference is up to you. I personally rarely need to use that one, but you may want to clear up your visibility even more.
If you happen to live in cold-to-freezing climates, then it will be very necessary for you to purchase windshield wiper fluid mixed in with some anti-freeze. As it literally is an anti-freeze, the wiper fluid will not freeze up upon being sprayed onto your windshield, and it will not freeze up while it is sitting in the reservoir tank.
It is this time now that I would recommend that you grab the owner’s manual to your car and read up on where that darned tank is, and walk on over to your car to check it out. Get a feel for where the cap is, and take a look at how high the fluid level is. Go ahead. Enjoy.
