If you’ve gonna get a “sports car” and you’ve never driven one before, it needs to be a an 8-cylinder. V6 Camaros are all show and no go. Sometime in the past before I finally got my hands an 8-cylinder sports car, I unfortunately spent all of my hard-earned money on a V6 Camaro years ago and I hated it because I realized what a mistake I made by taking the advice of my folks to not get an V8 yet. I know how to drive.

I think V6 sports cars are only good for someone who’s already had their fun with a V8 sports car and now they wanna take it easy. For someone yet to experience the thrill of going 0 to 60 in under 6 seconds, it has to be an 8-cylinder if they’re gonna get a “sports car”.

A Mustang, Firebird, or a Camaro just isn’t a true “performance car” without that true get up and go that’s got more power than some sedan. If it’s no laster than some sedan, then it’s not truly a “performance car”, is it? That V6 Camaro I had was no faster than a 2000 Ford F150 with a V8.

NOT TRUE AT ALL. THERE ARE SOME OUTSTANDING SPORTSCARS WITH V-6S. THE BMW M-3 , NISSAN 350Z, AUDI TT, ACURA NSX, LEXUS I-S350 TO NAME A FEW. WEIGHT IS A PROBLEM IN THE MUSTANGS AND CAMEROS AND A SOMEWHAT WEAK V-6S THEY WERE OFFERING AT THE TIME . ALL OF THE ABOVE DO 0-60 IN LESS THAN 6 AND THE M-3 AND NSX DO IT IN LESS 5 SECONDS. IN HEAVIER CARS LIKE THE MUSTANG AND CAMAROS THE V-8S ARE MUCH STRONGER THEN THERE V-6 COUNTERPARTS. THE NEW MUSTANG DOES HAVE A FAIRLY STRONG V-6 240HP. A GOOD SPORTSCAR HAS GOOD HANDLING GOOD POWER AND GOOD WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION–MOST OF ALL IS ALOT OF FUN TO DRIVE. PEOPLE HAVE VERY DIFFERENT IDEAS OF THE ABOVE–TECHNOLOGY HAS OPENED SO MANY DOORS IN AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY.

There’s no replacement for displacement buddy!
Why didn’t you just pull the v6 out and drop a v8 in? it would’ve solved your problem.

Try going with a 1969 Camaro. It’s got everything you need. It’s got looks, horsepower, and it sound’s really good on the street. It’s better then any V6 or 4 banger.
